Bollywood lounge is an interesting modern twist to the authentic indian restaurant, fusing recipes from different cultures to create a unque dining experience. We provide an excellent extensive menu including traditional dishes and our own unique fusion dishes, to name but a few.
I have eaten at Bollywood several times and i've never had a problem with any of the meals i have chosen. The atmosphere is great and the staff are friendly. Having the Bollywod music in the background makes the meal enjoyable!
The wide range of vegetarian dishes are excellent and where else in Wakefield can you dine on fresh organic food? The service is second to none both friendly and professional. We eat regularly in this restaurant and the Christmas Lunch we had there last year was excellent and the best value we have ever had. In my view, this restuarant is easily the best in Wakefield!
We went for my daughter`s birthday, food was excellent as was the service and price. Very friendly atmosphere, excellent variety of dishes.
I recently visited Bollywood with three others we were seated in the window which was at first nice as then was everyone else who was came into the restauarant! It was just very strange as the restaurant is large and there were plenty of spare places I think all the customers felt uncomfortable you could not have a conversation without thinking you were being listened to, i was so close to the people next to me I could have shared there meal! Having said all that the food and drinks were pleasent enough but I would say over priced, there are better Indian restaurants in wakefield though I have to say the decor is the best in Wakefield a very clean nice looking restaurant.
What can I say - none of our part of 6 had any of the issues listed in the other two reviews and everyone without exception said their meals were excellent. Service was excellent despite the resturant being crammed (its that time of year), quality, flavour and presentation of the food was excellent. Though you may not get quite as much as other resturants on your plate, every one of my party was well fed after a starter and main course. A definate cut above the norm and highly recommended. (If its any help, I have heard they very recently changed some of the management staff so that may be the reason for the marked improvement)
I HAVE HEARD SINCE IT OPENED NOTHING BUT GOOD REPORTS ABOUT BOLLYWOOD LOUNGE, BUT WHEN I DECIEDED TO TRY IT I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED, FOR STARTERS YOU DONT GET FREE PICKLE TRAY AND POPERDOMS AS YOU GET IN MANY PLACES, THE POPERDOMS WERE HARD AND VERY SMALL, MY WIFE ORDERED A MEAL CALLED (JAY) MADE WITH LAMB, SHE GOT A FEW EDIBLE PIECES AND THE REST WAS CHEWEY AND ALOT OF GRISTLE. I GOT THE SAME BUT WITH CHICKEN, MINE WAS BLAND WITH NOT MUCH TASTE EVEN THOUGH IT HAD A 3 CHILLIE RATING, THE PICKLE TRAY WAS HOTTER!, WE WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS MEAL BUT WONT BE GOING THERE AGAIN. I HAVE GOT HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS IN WAKEFIELD TO DO WITH MY BUISNESS AND WONT BE RECOMENDING THE BOLLYWOOD LOUNGE TO THEM.THE WAITERS WAS POLITE AND THE SOROUNDINGS WAS PLEASANT BUT THAT WAS ABOUT THE BEST THING I COULD SAY ABOUT IT. TRY OTHER RESTAURANTS IN WAKEFIELD.
We decided to try Bollywood Lounge as it was new for a friends birthday and booked for 8 people. We arrived and were seated at our table and was inpressed by the decor and the menu, and ordered drinks and then our courses going round the table as not to miss any one out. The drinks arrived and we had extra Cobra we had not ordered and drinks that were not there and kindly the waiter left a big tray on the end of our table for 20 minutes getting in the way. The starters came and realising everyone had theirs but me I waved a waiter to say where was mine he rushed off and came back with it after everyone had finished theirs which due to portion size was not long my collegue ordered lamb tikka and it was really small sized 2 mouthfuls at the most. Then onto the mains all came out this time my chipattis never came but I was pass caring to be honest - small portions again. On asking for the bill we were asked if everything was ok by the owner and I voiced the errors about service and my missing items and to be honest he did not care and never apologised. Items on the bill we had not had were added including the cobras and chipatti. Also no happy birthday was sung/mentioned and on the phone when booking he said he would make a fuss. Overall lovely place for decor, overpriced, small portions and although plenty of waiters it all seems a mess with service. I would not go back as there are much better indian restaurants to go to in Wakefield.
We decided to try the Bollywood Lounge after walking past it unaware it was even there at first. The service was brillliant everyone was very helpful and courteous and you felt they really added a personal touch whilst looking after you. The decor and outlay of the resteraunt is very modern and comfortable a cut above your usual Indian. The music they played was a mixed bag and very enjoyable not too heavy either way so suited to most tastes. The food was lovely the best I've tasted in a long time with a very extensive and interesting menu which encouraged me to try something different which is out of the norm for me! We would definitely use again and I am considering using them to cater for my up and coming party as I was that impressed. In my opinion the only thing that they could do better is slightly bigger portions but that said that is proabably our fault for ordering 3 dishes between 4 people thinking there would be enough!
