107-109 Kirkgate, Town Centre, upon visting wakefield a few days ago nurseryland was one of the places i visited to have a look around to get ideas of prices for items i would need to be getting in preparation for my baby being born. On reading these reviews and listening to some of the things that have happened to previous cutomers i can well and truly say i wont be going near the store again or buying anything from there. Sounds like the staff have an eye of getting customers in and then dont want anything to do with the consequences or mishaps that may happen afterwards! Thanks for the ore-warning guys.
Having Purchased a Britax multi system in March 09 the car seat became faulty. We returned the car seat to the shop with the chasis to be either exchanged or refunded. Having requested this very politely the so called owner told us it was our fault for buying crap and why had we not bought a bugaboo. I could not believe what I was hearing she was rude, abrupt with no sense of customer service or even something as simple as good manners. We resolved the problem with Britax direct who were very helpful. How Nuseryland in Wakefield stays open is beyond belief. I advise anyone who is wishing to purchase any nursery items to stay well away from Nurseyland as their after sales service is an horrendous experience.
this store is a complete waste of time my girlfriend has 3 weeks till her due date and the manageress was very rude saying she wasnt obliged to give us a refund and told us we were full of whats ifs when we said she may go in to labour soon , its a tuppence halfpenny business and is run by a complete moron
Having visited the store today to collect the outstanding items (I had to call them to discover they had arrived), I advised the manageress that I'd been wholly unhappy with my experience of dealing with them, and had posted a number of reviews online to that end. As she was walking away from me, she said, "You nasty b*tch". I said, "Sorry?!" and she replied "You heard me." Do yourself a favour and avoid this store at all costs...
The staff here at Nurseryland in Wakefield are fine until you've spent your hundreds of hard-earned pounds. Having spent a total of £640 on a pushchair and accessories I found that, having had a caesarian section and being unable to get around, some accessories had not been needed and had remained unopened. Two weeks after I'd collected the accessories, I took them back to ask for a refund. This was refused (as is their prerogative, I accept). Instead. a credit note was given. Although I had already bought all I needed, I managed to spend all but £35 of the credit note on things I didn't need, but kind of liked. I couldn't find a thing to spend the last bit on. When I explained it to the staff member in store, she simply remarked, "Don't spend it then." "But then I'd lose £35" I replied. "Well spend it then!" came the dismissal. Another shopper overheard the conversation and offered to buy my credit note, as she intended to spend about £35. In a nutshell, the staff flatly refused this option, becoming rude and abrupt. They even prevented ME from buying the item for the other shopper. The other shopper left in disgust without buying anything and I reluctantly bought something I neither wanted or needed, just so they didn't profit from this debacle. I'm still waiting for theses unwanted items, six weeks later and have heard nothing. The store has a decent range at reasonable prices, but PLEASE beware of their horrendous after-sales 'service'.
